B-bop

Size:  48.5" x 53"

This is another gift that I recently completed. The pattern is Oh Baby! from Little Quilts 4 Little Kids by Anka's Treasures.  The border fabric is Critters by Clothworks.  The other seven adorable prints are from the Urban Zoologie line by Robert Kaufman Fabrics.  The yellow background fabric is by P & B Textiles.
The batting is Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 and the backing is a multi-tonal pink flannel.  The binding is a solid pink from Maywood Studios.

I quilted vertical lines over most of the quilt with horizontal lines across the center.  The "B-bop" is appliquéd on with a satin stitch.

Happy Quilting!

Dogwood Dresden

So I'm trying to organize (clean up) my scraps and have been working hard at them but then I get distracted...

I came across some of Moda's Dogwood Trail charm squares and a bit of yardage left over from a previous project.  Here's the result:
Size:  13.5" x 13.5"

I cut Dresden wedges from ten charm squares (two from each), finished each end, sewed them together, and then stitched them onto a 13.5" background of Northcott Stonehenge (black) already sandwiched with batting and backing.  I'm already picturing it in other colors - like Christmas.

Happy Quilting!

Undersea Adventures

Pattern:  Panel Magic, Tiny 57 by Pieced Tree Patterns
Size:  35.5" x 53.5"

Accent fabric & binding:  Shadow Play by Maywood Studio
Backing:  Della Flannel Stones (Turquoise) by Free Spirit
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20

I quilted wavy lines horizontally mimicking the border print.

I have another Underseas Adventures panel to use at a later date - I just have to decide what to do with it :)

Woodland Tails & More

Size:  36.25" x 44.25"

This quilt started with the following four fabrics from the Woodland Tails line by Sheri Berry Designs for Riley Blake Designs:

I especially loved the little blue mouse so added Flock (blue dots) by Thomas Knauer for Andover Fabrics and Color Weave by P & B Textiles (also used it for the binding).

Finally, I pulled the yellow print from my stash (which I think is from P & B Textiles) & also the polka dot print with the purple, pink, green & blue which was also from my stash:

I cross-hatched the entire quilt with approximately 1" lines.  The batting is Hobbs Heirloom 80/20.  The backing is Nursery Flannel ~ Crumbs Shell ~ Cloud9  Fabric, 100% certified organic cotton.  It was beautiful to work with!

Happy Quilting!

Chevrons - at last!

Ever since Quilting Quickly - Summer 2013 came out I've been waiting for chevron fabric to arrive at Serge & Sew.  I knew it had been ordered ages ago but I also know that fabric just comes when it comes no matter when it's ordered.  Finally some came from Northcott's Feathered Friends line so I could make my version of Hard Candy.
I used a Maywood Studio Shadow Play and my EZ Quilter Easy Dresden Ruler instead of the template (the template was longer) so my finished circle is approximately 19" across.  I quilted 1/2" lines in a spiral (starting near the center) before appliquéing the circle with Lite Steam-A-Seam 2.  On the back I used a gold coloured fabric from Cranston Print Works from my stash.  For batting I used Hobbs Heirloom 80/20.

Daisy Steps

Quilt name:  Daisy Steps
Fabrics:
Main:  Buddy Bear Daisy Ecru by Fabri-Quilt Fabric
Pink & Orange:  Basically Beautiful by Maywood Studio
Yellow:  Shadow Play by Maywood Studio
Batting:  Hobbs Heirloom 80/20
Pattern:  Baby Steps by Designs to Share with You

On the back is Della Flannel Sun Stones by Free Spirit.  I added a hanging sleeve out of the flannel also before the binding in the orange fabric.
I used Superior Threads King Tut 934 to stitch in the ditch.  I love this yellow thread with the hints of green & orange.

The above fabric used in my "Another Fabric Bucket" is Buzz Words Black and Buzzy Bee Gray from the What's the Buzz? (Kanvas) from Benartex.

Another Patchwork Bucket

This my second Patchwork Bucket.  I did one less row in the body so it is approximately 9.5" tall.  Again I quilted 1/2" lines horizontally on the body and cross-hatched 1/2" lines on the bottom.  I left a little more hand room in the handles so they stick out from the bucket a little more.
Fabrics:  Most were from my scrap bin but the "bees" & the "buzz" were new fat quarters I recently got at Serge & Sew (of course I picked the ones without the selvedge info so I'm not sure which company they are from).  The black & white checkered (bucket bottom) is a Mary Engelbreit for VIP fabrics by Cranston and the yellow lining/faux binding is Jasmine by Pamela Mostek for Clothworks.
Thread:  King Tut 934 (variegated & being used on a lot of my projects these days - it's mainly yellow but has orange & green too)
Specialty Ruler Used:  Cut A Round by Phillips Fiber Arts
Batting:  Pellon Fusible Fleece 987F
Based on tutorial from: www.quarterinchmark.blogspot.com

Dancing Horses

This is a quilt I designed & finished a short while ago as a baby gift.
Main fabric:  Dancing Horses by Laurel Burch for Clothworths
Other fabrics:  batiks
On the back:  flannel
Size:  42.5" x 50.5"

Patchwork Bucket

This Patchwork Bucket has been made from my scrap bin.  I used the tutorial at 1/4" Mark (www.quarterinchmark.blogspot.com) with a couple of changes of my own.  I used 3.5" squares to piece the main body and I think next time I will only use three rows so it won't be quite so tall.  I also used my Cut A Round ruler from Phillips Fiber Art to cut my bottom circle - it worked great!  I left 1/4" or so of the lining showing at the top so the bucket has a bound look.  I quilted 1/2" lines horizontally along the body and cross-hatched 1/2" lines on the bottom.  The final size is approx 12.25" tall and 8.5" across.

3 Times the Charm

These tote bags were made using the pattern 3 Times the Charm from Fons & Porter's Quilting Quickly, Spring 2013.  Fabrics:  The first one used charm squares from Moda:  Simple Marks.
The second used charm squares from Northcott:  Stonehenge Stone Chips.
(Moda has released Simples Marks Summer, a brighter version, which I can't wait to use!)
